London grown Kate has one of the most well known stories of being discovered. Much like many top models she was spotted in a public place. Sarah Doukas of Storm Model Management discovered her at an airport in New York when she was only 14. Her frail figure has earned her the nickname of "twig".

"At first, I was thrown out of castings, I was too big, too small, they even called me a fat cow!" Discovered on a beach in Corsica by a scout of Madison agency while on a family holiday. She is the face of Ralph Lauren’s Notorious. Curvaceous and a relatively small size (1, 71m) she is still one of the most famous top models in the world.
Eva Herzigova (Czech republic)

Eva is another top model who was brought to the attention of the model industry because of a modelling contest. At the age of 16 in a competition she won first place in a conetst organized by the French agency Madison. Originally from the Czech republic she moved to France to launch her international career. She’s most famous for being the face (and body) of Wonderbra.
Gisele Bündchen (Brazil)

Super model Gisele was born in Sao Paulo July 20, 1980. Allegedly discovered while eating a Big Mac at McDonald's in Sao Paulo, she has done campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Versace, Valentino, Celine, Gianfranco Ferre, and Chloe ...and is now the richest model in the world!
Natalia Vodianova (Russia)

After first being told by an agency that she didn’t have what it takes to be a supermodel, she was then spotted by a Russian photographer working for the French agency Viva models. Viva told her to come to Paris, under the conditions that she learned English within 3 months. And so she did. At 17, Natalia flew to France and signed her first contract.

The modelling world likes to find faces which are unique and Lily Cole is certainly that. The iconic doll face with that rich red hair and pale complexion was discovered when she was only 14 years old in Soho, London, by Benjamin Hart and then signed with one of the most prestigious British agencies; Storm Models.
